A new dynamic version of inspira (video)
On 28 January 2020 09:00 AM EST, a new, more dynamic version of inspira will go live after a short planned service outage from 25 to 28 January. During the service outage, external users and staff members will not be able to access inspira.
Guidance for external users and staff members:
Staffing activities:
- Deadlines for job openings occurring within the period will be automatically extended.
- External users and staff will not be able to search for jobs and apply for jobs.
- UN staff will not be able create or manage job openings, access staffing information or performance documents.
How will the planned service outage impact me?
In order to complete all changes required for the technology refresh, a temporary service outage is planned from 25 to 28 January 2020. During this time, users will not be able to access inspira at all. For example, staff will not be able to search for jobs, apply for jobs, create or manage job openings, access staffing information or performance documents, or enroll for learning courses.
What will happen to job openings with deadlines during the planned outage?
Deadlines for job openings occurring within the period will be automatically extended.
Given the unavailability of the system during that period, managers and staff are asked to organize and plan their activities accordingly.
Will existing data in the system be affected?
There is no impact to existing data such as job openings, applicant data, and performance management documents. There is no need to save or transfer any data.
Learning activities (applies to UN staff only):
For all staff:
- If you need to do a Computer Based Training (CBT) course in inspira/LMS before 28 January, you need to enroll and complete it (including assessments) before the 24th January otherwise you can do it after 28th January 2020 once system is back online.
- Please check if you have completed all mandatory courses for travel (i.e. Basic Security) as they will not be accessible through inspira during this period.
For Umoja transactional end-users - Computer Based Trainings (CBTs) which are prerequisites for Instructor Led Training (ILT):
- Please note that CBT completion will not be possible during the inspira outage.
- Please enroll and complete any prerequisite CBTs for face-to-face training that you are enrolled in during 25-28 January. You must complete the CBTs prior to 24 January. You may not be able to take any Instructor Led Training (ILT) during this period, if your prerequisite CBTs have not been completed successfully.
- If you are unable to do the CBT this week – and need to complete it to participate in an ILT in the week 25-28 January – you can review the course materials here: https://umoja.un.org/content/transactional-user
- Please note that this does not constitute the completion of the CBT. From 28 January, you are required to self-enroll in the specific CBT course in inspira/LMS and complete the assessment in order to obtain your final certification. This work-around is only accepted in the period 25-28 January.
- The administration of ILTs during the period 25-28 January will be managed by your Regional Training Coordinators. All coordinators can guide you accordingly.
- Please note during the period 25-28 January inspira will not be available to all language classes in Vienna, New York and Santiago.
